MMA goes by, and has gone by, many names, including NHB, Vale Tudu, Free Fighting, and has been around for a long time. While nothing new, MMA, or Mixed Martial Arts, has recently received widespread public acceptance in America through the UFC, TUF, Strikeforce, and Belatore. MMA, as a sport, is now sanctioned in most states, including Kentucky, and is exploding in popularity!
Mixed Martial Arts can be thought of as a sportive rule set that allows athletes to compete in a simulated fight that includes all ranges of empty hand combat. And while it's important to understand that MMA is NOT an actual fight, it IS an exciting sport, with rules, where martial concepts can be pressure tested in a relatively safe environment.
Louisville Martial Arts students are exposed to an age, and experience, appropriate curriculum that allows them to grow as martial artists, athletes, and competitors. Our focus is on developing superior martial artists and individuals with all the necessary skills to achieve in whatever arena they might choose.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and San Shou Kickboxing programs are of particular interest to those interested in MMA as competitor, or just a fan.
